GREATER BETA ETA

The term “Greater Beta Eta” is an inclusive and descriptive term which refers to the three separate alumni boards which advise and manage the affairs of the student chapter of Beta Eta:

1. The Beta Eta Alumni Chapter

2. The Beta Eta Housing Corp

3. The Beta Eta Board of Alumni Advisors

Each of the three entities takes ownership of a specific aspect of continuing Pi Kappa Phi’s presence at Florida State University.

Together, they work to advance the specific goals and objectives of the Beta Eta Chapter, keeping both alumni and students connected through a positive and meaningful fraternity experience.

BOARD DESCRIPTIONS

ALUMNI CHAPTER

The Beta Eta Alumni Chapter, Inc. (BHAC) is a Florida 501(c)(7) not-for-profit corporation. Established on January 8, 2005, the BHAC is a membership based organization, open to all alumni members of the Beta Eta Chapter in good standing with the fraternity, dedicated to reconnecting Beta Eta alumni to each other and the fraternity.

At its inception in January 2005, the Alumni Chapter adopted the following mission statement :

The mission of the Beta Eta Alumni Chapter shall be to reestablish a viable alumni group, dedicated to connecting alumni with each other and to their fraternity through timely communication of relevant alumni news and through meaningful events. This group shall promote the ideals of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity as expressed in our ritual of initiation and Supreme Laws and encourage Beta Eta alumni to renew their lifetime pledge to the brotherhood and this fraternity.

The BHAC holds its Annual Meeting each spring and is governed by a board of seven directors, each elected to staggered three-year terms of office. The directors choose four executive officers from the board each year to govern the day-to-day operations of the BHAC.

HOUSING CORP

The Beta Eta House Corporation, Inc. of Tallahassee, Florida, (BHHC) is a Florida 501(c)(7) not-for-profit corporation. The oldest of all Beta Eta affiliated alumni groups, generations of chapter alumni are familiar with the BHHC through its informal name of “Housing Corp.” The principle duty of the BHHC is the stewardship and management of the chapter house currently located at 423 West College Avenue.

The BHHC is managed by a board of directors which is elected each year during the corporation’s Annual Meeting held on Florida State’s Homecoming weekend.

BOARD OF ALUMNI ADVISORS

The Board of Alumni Advisors (BOAA) is a volunteer organization comprised of alumni who work with Beta Eta student chapter members. This team of volunteers is led by the Chapter Advisor.
